Maintenance Tips
The secret to long-lasting clothing lies in temperature and drying management.
- Cotton: Very durable, it tolerates washing well at 40°C.
- Synthetics (Polyester, Spandex): They are sensitive to heat. Wash them at a maximum of 30°C to prevent fibers from being damaged or clothes from losing their shape (especially for your boxers and socks containing spandex).
- Expert tip: Always wash clothes inside out to protect colors and prints from drum friction.
Maintenance depends on usage, but one golden rule prevails: avoid the washing machine as much as possible (it can detach soles and break synthetic fibers).
Regular maintenance:
- Synthetic sneakers: A damp sponge with a little Marseille soap is enough for the outside.
- Inside & Odors: Sprinkle a little baking soda inside your sneakers or slippers once a month, let it sit overnight, then vacuum it up.
- Drying: Never place your shoes near a radiator. Let them air dry, away from direct heat sources to prevent them from hardening or deforming.
Bed linen requires impeccable hygiene while preserving the softness of the fibers.
- Frequency: Ideally every 1 to 2 weeks.
- Temperature:
60°C for cotton to effectively eliminate dust mites and bacteria.
40°C for synthetic blends to maintain the suppleness of the fabric.
Softness tip: Replace your chemical fabric softener with half a glass of white vinegar in the dispenser. It's a natural descaler that makes sheets softer without clogging the fibers.
- Wash less: If a garment isn't stained and doesn't smell bad, simply air it on a hanger instead of washing it.
- The laundry bag: Recommend using a laundry bag for socks and underwear. This prevents them from getting lost or snagging on zippers of other clothes.
- Dose the detergent: Too much detergent doesn't mean more cleanliness; it clogs fibers and can irritate the skin.
